About Bulkhead Guide
Bulkhead Guide helps waterfront owners make sense of seawall, bulkhead and dock problems: what is failing, what the options are, what things cost, and how to choose who does the work.
Who publishes it
The site is published by Catalyst Digital Services LLC, a digital publishing and marketing company. We are not a marine contractor and we do not perform, inspect, design or warrant any work.
Who writes and reviews the guides
Guides are researched and written by our editorial team from named public sources — state and federal agencies, engineering references and dated cost guides — and every source is listed on the page that uses it. We are working to add independent technical review by a qualified marine or civil engineer. When a guide has been reviewed, the reviewer's name, qualifications and review date will appear on it. Until then, treat the guides as well-sourced background, not engineering advice.
Where we cover
We cover waterfront properties across the United States: ocean, bay, sound, canal, river and lake. Permit rules and agencies differ by state, so our guides explain the federal framework and point you to where state requirements are listed. Contractor listings will be added area by area as providers pass our review.
How the site is funded
We may earn referral fees or sponsorship from contractors we list. Any paid relationship will be labeled on the listing, and it does not change what our guides say. Our editorial policy and contractor review process explain the rules we hold ourselves to.
